Biotin (Vitamin H) is an essential cofactor for a small number of enzymes involved mainly in the transfer of CO2 during HCO-3-dependent carboxylation reactions (Alban et al, 2000; Ludwig et al, 2000).
Scientists from the University of Exeter and Shimane University in Japan have proved for the first time that vitamin C is essential for plant growth. This discovery could have implications for agriculture and for the production of vitamin C dietary supplements. (Dowdle et al, 2007)
Vitamin B6 is an essential coenzyme for numerous metabolic enzymes and is a potent antioxidant. In plants, very little is known about its contribution to viability, growth and development. (Titiz et al, 2006)
