Hi guys this is my ceph tank, on the left is the gyant ceph and on the right is the typical ceph. now check this out my gyant ceph is putting out a little baby cheers Xavier

Love the set up. how long have you been growing these guys for ?... too bad the same cant be said to my cephs... Pls do update us since the Ceph thread is very quiet indeed.

I have been growing these guys for about 6 or 7 months now and they have triple their size.
sure buddy i will try to keep the thread alive. I gow them uder fluorecent lights at a temp of 22 C and the lights stay on for 16 hours a day

wow 6 to 7 months and they tripled in size? i havent had any luck growing these beauties, perhaps its time for me to try set it up in a tank like and flurescents like yours... got 5 of them ( 2nd batch 1st batch all went to heaven ) this early august now down to 2... not sure what im doing wrong...

the soil mix i think is the key. mine is 3 to 1 perlite and spagnum. that layer is about 2 inch. under that i got 3 inches of lava rock.

Bonsay, PingKing also has an advantage we don't have. Cooler temperatures. It seems that our year round constantly high temperature + high humidity cause a slightly different chemistry in the root region.

It seems that our year round constantly high temperature + high humidity cause a slightly different chemistry in the root region. yup true... my ceph are putting out tiny leaves... around 5 leafs, 1 cm in length and 5mm wide.... pretty tiny... i suppose i doesnt get enough sunlight... but when i place it in slightly sunnier place it becomes brown pretty quickly...

Is it normal for my ceph with this coloration? or maybe not enough light? I put the pot outdoor under shading net and the plant receive unfiltered direct sunlight for about 2 hours a day. This was on August : and this on Sept 24

yup very normal indeed... looks much much healthier then mine... i hope you'll be much more successful in growing them than me ...
